About the event

Domestic violence is a silent epidemic that affects many families in our community, and Greene County often leads the state in reported rates of domestic violence. Domestic Violence is often a precursor to homelessness, trauma, and declining health.

Survivors of domestic violence often first reach out to a trusted faith leader when experiencing abuse, and navigating these situations can often be complex and overwhelming.

To help support our local faith leaders, the Greene County Family Justice CenterHarmony HouseWomen’s Medical Respite, and the Southwest Missouri Chapter of Missouri Faith Voices are working together to provide training opportunities and additional resources related to domestic and family violence.

This October, please join us as we partner with Called to Peace Ministries to host a free collaborative workshop to help faith leaders recognize and respond to domestic violence in our community, and to begin building partnerships between our local victim services organizations and faith communities. We hope that will you join us for this event at Cox College on Thursday October 12th.
